  Calden stopped, his hand on the doorframe.   “Thessaly?” he asked without turning around.   “Yeah, her. The Feymere family is still seething. You saw the way Merek treated her tonight. Don’t let a minor issue escalate into a major problem.”   Mathias’s voice was firm now, back to his usual commanding tone.   Especially since Zarelle openly expressed her disdain for Thessaly at the party.   That scene had been broadcast to half of Luparis’s elite society.   Repairing the relationship between the two families was the priority right now, even if it meant sacrificing his son’s relationship.   Some things were more important than personal feelings.   Business. Reputation. Power.   Those were what mattered.   Calden just nodded.   A single, curt nod that could have meant anything.
