“I joined this show simply because I wanted to. Do I need to give you a reason?” Zarelle replied calmly.
Calden’s jealousy was evident, but his concern for Zarelle still lingered. He worried about her safety in this dangerous show. Watching her traverse the dense forest and emerge from a dark cave, and almost get into the water on such a cold day, his heart clenched.
Zarelle was the person he cared about most. The thought of anything happening to her drove him to madness. His concern stirred something in Zarelle’s heart, but she quickly reminded herself to ignore it.
“Hey, Calden, what brings you here?” Thomas, towel in hand, appeared beside Zarelle and Calden, shivering slightly.
