"What happened?"
Ryker's voice echoed through the examination room, strained with fear.
"Why is she still unconscious?"
He stood beside Julia's bed, one hand wrapped tightly around hers as though letting go would somehow make her disappear.
"Why isn't she waking up?"
The moment Julia had collapsed in his arms, Ryker hadn't hesitated. He had lifted her as though she weighed nothing. Then he ran.
With Orin lending him every ounce of his strength, Ryker crossed the distance between the village and the pack hospital in moments.
His Alpha aura had exploded through the pack as he shouted for the healer before he had even reached the hospital doors.
