Emma was an uptight, pedantic, know-it-all wannabe-intellectual. Needless to say, we didn’t like her. But unfortunately, we couldn’t afford the apartment on our own, and Emma was the only roommate we could find at the time. I grabbed a cold soda and popped it open, then took a long drink from it.
