The shadowy interrogation room felt even colder as Silvano and I escorted Alpha Enzo and Luna Lilith inside. Aurora's eyes widened with genuine shock when she saw her parents, her composed facade cracking for the first time.
"Mother? Father?" Her voice trembled slightly, the confident sneer she'd directed at me moments ago dissolving. "You came..."
Enzo's face remained hard, though I caught the flicker of pain in his eyes as he took in his daughter's disheveled appearance. "You've brought shame to our bloodline, Aurora."
Lilith moved forward, her elegant fingers brushing a strand of hair from Aurora's face with surprising tenderness. "What were you thinking, my foolish girl? Consorting with a witch? Against the Shadow Pack Alpha?"
