Both older men seemed stunned for a bit. Then they turn on Kai, who now has his head bent. Then his father shouted, “You f#cking did what?!”
Kai pins me with a hard stare, his jaw working, his mouth turned up bitterly for a bit, then he replies, “She loves me! She’ll understand.”
Uncle Darren’s jaw slackens. He’s too stunned to believe what he hears coming from his son’s mouth.
