It was a forbidden exception to the laws of the mate bond, one that could sever a corrupted connection and graft a new one into its place. But the scriptures spoke of consequences, too. Warnings passed down through generations, preserved by the pack elders for a reason.
I still don't know what those consequences will be, but I will visit the Elders tomorrow to find out. Hopefully they have more solid answers for me by now.
