I could feel his arms as he held me to him, the heat from his body surrounding me like a blanket. I'm not even sure why I was clinging to him like this. Something was pulling me to be close to him, like my body was sorting comfort from him.
I knew something was wrong when I felt his body tense under me. But when that wolf jumped out in front of us. I knew it was a rogue just by the way it looked, skinny and matted fur, its eyes were a dull red.
What I wasnt expecting was how fast Reggie ended him. One swipe and the rogue went down. I know there are times when others die and with rogues, the possibility of that is higher, but I have never seen someone die in person. One minute, it was standing there snarling, and the next, he was on the ground bleeding out.
