I look back toward the door just as Jenna is leading Abby back inside and toward the Alpha table. I take the seat next to my father, still needing to keep a distance between us. My eyes meet hers for a moment, and she mouths the words "thank you" and I nod. I'm grateful when she focuses back on Jenna. I don't want to see anyone harassing her, but I'm not going to risk upsetting Seraphina. I have so much to atone for and, despite none of it being Abby's fault, it could still hurt Seraphina to know we were talking.

After my conversation with Zane last night, I headed to my room, but I couldn't sleep. I kept replaying everything that had happened in my mind. Every moment I spent with Caspian before I heard that conversation in his office. How happy I was that he was my mate. T
