When the transformation finished, a massive brown wolf stood where Mr. Chester had been moments before. Thick, glossy fur the color of dark chocolate caught the light, promising warmth and wildness. His eyes—those same impossible purple eyes—locked onto mine, glowing faintly. Long, deadly fangs glinted as his lips pulled back slightly, not in threat, but in something almost like recognition.
