Ashton’s POV I don’t go back to sleep. I can’t, and not just because my daughter is full of beans and currently bouncing all over my bed while talking nineteen to the dozen about a game that she plays on her tablet. I have no idea what she’s talking about, so I just nod and hope for the best. I get back up at seven thirty, taking Beth downstairs, shushing her as we pass Luna’s door, not wanting to wake the intern if she’s managed to fall asleep once more. I still feel f.ucking awful; I can’t believe I hurt her like that, but at least she’s agreed to stay. We walk into the kitchen, and I make a beeline for the coffee machine, turning it on as Beth climbs up on the chair behind me. ‘Daddy, can we have waffles?’ she asks hopefully as I place a mug underneath and press the start button.
