Kane’s POV
I wanted to go over to Brandy’s house; when I left Dalton’s, it was still early enough that she might have been awake, but I forced myself to go home. It’s all part of the game plan, she needs to feel my absence to start opening up to the thought of my constant presence. But as I lay in my own bed, alone, I couldn’t bear to not see her before I went to sleep, and I ended up calling her anyway.
As soon as she answered the phone, I could tell that something was going on, I could hear the nervousness in her voice, she sounded almost . . . breathless.
As I question her, my interest piqued, she becomes cagey before giving me the lamest reason for being awake; that’s when the idea pops into my head, the reason she is awake and breathless, f***k, she’s touching herself.
