Ashton’s POV ‘That's unfair, Luna,’ I say, my voice dropping to a low, tight whisper so it won't carry upstairs to Beth's room as I stare at my woman in shock. I step around the coffee table, closing the distance between us until I can smell the faint trace of her vanilla scent, the one I’ve been missing for hours because I didn’t know how to go to her after Beth finally fell asleep in my bed and it’s how I ended up here, staring mindlessly at the television whilst not taking in a second of the show that is playing. ‘You're not a liability,’ I try again, needing her to understand that my words weren’t meant to hurt her, I do trust her, but . . .
