Colton’s POV
Emma has been distant since Wednesday night, and much quieter the last few days. She wasn’t letting me comfort her. I didn’t get to see her last night. We only spoke on the phone. I was hesitant to push her too much because this was uncharted territory. I didn’t want to scare her off. I was terrified of losing her because of what Kimberly had done.
I reminded Jeffrey not to call me unless it was an emergency. I needed to spend extra time with Emma. I was glad that our family had stepped up to help watch out for Emma at the bakery. Otherwise, I wouldn't have been able to focus at work, worrying about her. I knew I was throwing off everyone’s schedules, but I was glad they loved her enough to help me protect her.
