Joan’s POV
This can’t be happening. Why are they here? I stepped back behind Halton, but he moved away and sat behind his desk again. He didn’t seem to be surprised to see the police outside his office. Alarm bells started going off in my head at seeing how calm he was about this.
“Halton, what the hell is going on? I came here because I needed your help. Why would you allow them to enter our home to arrest me? I’m your wife,” I cried out as I tried to dodge the officer.
“You can’t seriously be asking me that question, Joan. We both know how you'd act if someone tried to kill Noel. We both know you'd hunt them down to the ends of the earth. Emma's never done anything to Noel, yet you were willing to have her killed,” Halton replied.
