Calissa’s POV
We made a show of putting on the snorkels and masks when we got up to our shoulders in the water. We were already removing them when we dove in and transformed. I had noticed that the mermen’s tails were less flashy than our mermaid tails. Probably because they were a larger target in the water than we were. Mine was more colorful and larger than the average tail due to being a blessed mermaid. None of our tails were truly flashy or bright, as shiny items attract several marine animals including barracudas and sharks. Poseidon probably didn’t want anything to attract unwanted attention to us anyway.
Dillan’s tail was mostly dark gray, with scales ranging from light, medium, and dark gray running through it. He had excellent camouflage in the water, blending in
