The monthly community meeting fell on the last Thursday of November.
It was the first since the ceremony — the first time the full inner pack had been in the same room with both of us since I'd stood in the council chamber and said witness and the vote had come back twelve to two. The pack had been watching since then. Not hostile — the specific curiosity of a community that has been told something important has changed and is now in the process of deciding whether the change is real or performed.
