REMI'S POV The appointment was on a Wednesday afternoon, which was different from the Friday appointments we'd had before — Okafor's schedule had shifted and the Wednesday slot was the one that worked. It was a small thing. It registered because the Fridays had become, over the past two months, a specific kind of anchor to the week. Something to orient around.
