I found Tessa before I found anything to eat. She was sitting with Marie, and both of them looked at me when I walked over. Tessa had apparently been waiting for me because she immediately put her phone aside. Marie looked between us like she already knew she was about to be dragged into something.
"So?"
I sat beside her.
"So what?"
"Don't start."
Marie laughed.
I looked at Tessa and considered how much I wanted to tell her. The girls' day had been her idea, but I was already finding ways to make it useful. Knox couldn't complain about Tessa spending time with us without making himself look ridiculous. I could work with that.
"Tomorrow. We're going shopping."
