I found Ridge in the common area talking to Holt. Mira was nearby with Sarah, and I considered turning around before anyone noticed me. I wasn't in the mood for another argument about real estate. Unfortunately, Ridge saw me before I could decide.
"You're back."
"I am."
Holt looked between Ridge and me before getting to his feet. He knew us well enough to recognize when a brother and sister conversation was coming. I wasn't sure whether Ridge had told him anything about my plans, and I didn't care. He didn't need to be stuck in the middle of it.
"I need to check on Crash anyway."
Ridge nodded.
"Good luck getting him to listen."
"I gave up expecting that years ago."
Holt walked away, leaving me with Ridge and Mira. Mira looked at me over Sarah's head and seemed interested
