I know that she had to go after him. She needed to.
Her fear, her guilt, and her self-doubt compelled her to do so - made her think that she had no other choice.
I also know that her anger and hatred toward Malachai urged her forward. Pushed her to act in a way that she normally wouldn't have. Hope is not a reckless person. But Malachai woke something up inside her - something that might have been there all this time, but hidden so far away that she might not have known that it existed.
Something covered beneath years of trauma: feelings of being alone in this world. Her fear of being rejected and not belonging. Emotions that she's taught herself to mask with compassion and empathy.
I get it. I know fear. I understand self-doubt. I've been through it all.
