Just as I was about to sleep, the buzzing of my phone interrupted me and I jolted back to reality. I groaned inwardly before reaching out to my phone from the side drawer.
I glanced at the screen to see Alexander’s name flashing on the phone. I wanted to ignore the call and drift off to sleep but it wasn’t going to be fair. During the day, he called me while I was at the office, and I promised to talk to him when I got back home.
It had slipped my mind to return his call, so I had to answer him now. I clicked the answer button and pressed the phone closer to my ear.
