It took me a minute to realize what was going on.
How did my father know about my whereabouts?
When Mason noticed the uncomfortable shift in my demeanor, he whispered to me. “Is everything okay?” He asked with a hint of concern in his voice.
I shook my head before replying to my father. “Come out where?” I wanted to be certain that he knew exactly where I was.
“Come out from the restaurant.” His voice was low but menacing.
My heart flew out of my chest and I ended the call.
I was even ashamed to tell Mason about what was happening but I had no choice. I knew if I ignored my father and stayed inside with Mason, he would walk inside and cause a scene.
“I’m sorry, I have to go.” I grabbed my purse from the table and stood up from the chair.
