Harper and Nicholas answered at exactly the same time.
For a second, the hallway went completely silent.
Harper slowly turned toward Nicholas, only to find him staring back at her with the same stunned expression.
Neither of them seemed particularly pleased that they had responded with the exact same level of urgency.
Ken’s eyes narrowed slightly as his gaze moved between them.
“No?” he repeated.
“Absolutely not,” Harper answered quickly. “There is nothing going on between us.”

Harper immediately pointed at him. “Say something! Tell them there’s nothing going on between us!”
