Harper immediately lifted her chin, looking thoroughly pleased with herself.
“Hah! Damn right I am!” she declared smugly.
Nick could only shake his head in amusement at his girlfriend’s sudden change of mood.
Her antics had certainly lightened the mood after the tense confrontation. Even Maya and Damien, who had remained relatively quiet throughout visibly relaxed.
However, as though suddenly remembering something, Harper turned toward Nick, her eyes narrowing suspiciously.
Then, without warning, she jabbed an accusing finger right in front of his face.
