I placed a knock on my boss’s door and waited for her to permit me before I walked in.
She was surprised to see me in her office but was also quick to mask it and look away.
“I'm sure whatever you need to tell me can be passed down from your department head.” She spoke, not caring to look at me.
She didn't try to hide her hatred for me. She hated me even more for the fact that firing me would be directly going against William; her investor and the man she loved.
I didn't know if it made me a bad person but I didn't try to sympathise with her. If anything, I was here to rub my marriage in her face. She would fire me if she could. Why should I try to coddle her feelings?
I walked closer to her desk and placed the envelope on it without you saying anything.
