The full moon hung fat and silver in the clear mountain sky, flooding the cabin with cold, powerful light. Naida stood by the window, arms wrapped around herself, unable to look away. Her skin felt too tight. Too hot. The bond that had been simmering for days now roared inside her chest like a living thing. Modric stepped up behind her, his bare chest pressing against her back. His hands settled on her hips, firm and steady. “It’s the moon,” he murmured, voice low and rough. “It’s pulling on the bond. Hard.” Naida shivered as a wave of heat crashed through her. Her n*****s tightened painfully against her thin shirt. Between her legs, she was already slick and aching. “I feel… strange. Like something inside me wants to run. Or fight. Or—” “Shift,” Modric finished, nipping at her earlobe.
