Rowan had barely slept. Not that sleep had been possible. Every time he closed his eyes, he saw Emilia. Her smile when she argued with Kai. The concern in her eyes when Damon got injured. The way she looked completely overwhelmed by everything happening around her but still refused to break. It was distracting. Dangerously distracting. And Rowan hated distractions. Especially when they involved his mate. Their mate. The thought alone was enough to irritate him. The morning sun had barely risen when a loud knock sounded on his office door.
