The pack house smelled of blood, smoke, and anger. Wounded wolves groaned in the infirmary wing while the able-bodied gathered in the main hall, their eyes burning with yellow fury. Naida stood slightly behind Modric, her arm bandaged where her father’s blade had cut deep. The blood of her former allies still stained her clothes. She could feel every stare like a silver bullet. “They’re dead because of her!” Beta Kael’s replacement, a scarred warrior named Thorne, shouted. “Hunters came for the Knight b***h.
