Aria's POV
The following morning, the Elder took me to the heart of the vampire territory. I had expected a few vampires to be waiting for me, perhaps the leaders of the clan or a small gathering to formally acknowledge my new position.
Instead, the entire courtyard was filled.
Hundreds of vampires stood in orderly rows, their crimson eyes fixed on me. Some wore elaborate robes adorned with dark embroidery, while others were dressed like warriors, weapons strapped securely to their bodies.
Their expressions varied from curiosity to suspicion, but every gaze remained locked on me.
It felt as though they were waiting to see whether I truly deserved the title the Elder had given me.
