Damon's POV
I stepped onto the balcony with my phone and answered the call.
"Alpha Damon."
"Did it go through?" I immediately asked.
"Yes, it did. The board has reviewed the business proposal you submitted. There are a few adjustments we'd like to discuss, but overall, we're interested."
A small part of me should have been pleased. Weeks of negotiations, countless revisions, a deal worth billions, but none of it moved me the way it should have.
"I'll look over everything tonight," I replied calmly. "Send me the updated documents."
"We already have."
"Alright, I'll get back to you by tomorrow."
"We look forward to hearing from you, Alpha."
The call ended. I lowered the phone slowly, but instead of opening the email, I thought of Aria.
She had rejected me. Again. Not with anger. N
