"There's one more name from my original list," she said. "The fourth family I flagged as genuine concern. I've been reluctant to raise it, given everything the last two weeks have already cost this family emotionally."
"Tell me anyway," I said, setting down my tea.
"The Marlowe family," Corva said. "Distant, but connected to the structure through a relationship even older than the Kael branch. And this one concerns me differently than the others — not because of a single individual's grief, but because the family as a whole has maintained active belief in the structure's original purpose."
