BLAIR’S POV For the past ten minutes, Blaise and I have been in this car, sitting in silence. The thing is, talking to him isn’t hard and hell, I’d take any noise over this quiet. I keep sneaking glances at him, and he’s just…sitting like a rock, and scrolling through his phone. Which makes me realize his silence isn’t because he’s awkward over our kiss, it’s just his preference. I steal another look before taking a deep breath. “Your dad doesn’t seem that bad,” I say. Slowly, he turns to look at me and yeah, there’s pure disapproval on his face. Okay, maybe I did just rage-bait him but desperate times call for desperate measures. The silence was suffocating. “He’s a snake,” he finally responds, and drops his gaze back to his phone. “Don’t underestimate him, not even for a second.”
