I shouldn’t have clicked it.
That’s the first thought rattling in my skull as the ad flashes on my monitor again, a dark banner pulsing with crimson light:
“Elysium VR – Adult Expansion Module. Full Immersion. No Boundaries.”
My fingers twitch on the mouse. I should close it, clear my history, pretend I never saw it.
Instead, I whisper under my breath, “Screw it,” and click buy now.
A little thrill shoots through me as I watch the payment process. My card pings. Digital confirmation pops up on the screen like a sinister grin.
Congratulations. Elysium VR 18+ module unlocked.
I lean back in my chair, exhaling. “What the hell am I doing?”
The VR headset on my desk suddenly looks heavier, darker. Like it knows what I just bought.
