For over half an hour, I paced outside, ignoring the pointed looks from the guard stationed at her door. Finally, the doctor emerged from the room with a weary expression on his face. “How is she?” I demanded, walking over to him. “She’s physically fine,” he reported. “The miscarriage was complete. No complications or signs of infection, which is a good sign. She needs rest, but I’m certain she’ll recover fully.
