I spotted Lilith near the refreshment table, surrounded by a small group of admirers. She was laughing at something one of them had said, soaking up the praise like a sponge. As I approached, I overheard one of them gushing about how amazing the summer solstice ball was going to be now that it would be hosted by Moonshadow.
As if she hadn’t f*****g cheated to get that outcome. But right now, I didn’t care about who hosted which parties.
“I need to talk to you,” I said, interrupting her conversation. “Now.”
Her admirers shot me dirty looks, but Lilith waved them away with a simpering smile. “Luna business, darlings. I’ll be right back.”
