#Chapter 233: The King’s Folly

1340 Words

Natalia’s POV That wasn’t Damon. I couldn’t explain how it was possible, but somehow, the so-called “Winter King” was wearing my friend’s face. He was pretending to be Damon, adopting his mannerisms, his speech… but it wasn’t a perfect disguise. I had spent five years with Damon. I had been by his side almost every single day during that time. I had seen him at his highest and his lowest—and I knew him as if he were my own brother. That was not him. This man, this “King”, couldn’t perfectly emulate Damon’s mannerisms. His speech patterns were slightly off, his voice just a touch higher than Damon’s deep timbre. His movements were too haughty, and those eyes… Those eyes weren’t Damon’s. They were too dark, as if there was another, darker color underneath, hiding just beneath the green.
