The next morning, I woke up feeling sore all over. My body ached in places that reminded me of Kylian’s roughness from the night before. My neck had marks from his bites, and my thighs felt tender. I sat up slowly, wincing a little. The guilt from last night was still heavy in my chest, but today there was something else — a strange emptiness. I stood up and walked to the bathroom to take a bath. The warm water would help with the soreness. When I opened the bathroom door, I stopped suddenly. On the small table near my bed was a tray of food. It was not the usual cold leftovers. This was plenty.
