THE night air was cool, tinged with salt and the soft hum of the waves as Amelia followed Ifeanyi along the dimly lit path that led away from the resort. The lights lining the promenade faded gradually as they approached a more secluded area, and the soft rustle of leaves replaced the background noise of the bar. “I thought you would like this,” Ifeanyi said, pausing at the gate to a small private reserve adjoining the resort. “It is quiet, and there is not usually anyone around at this hour.” Amelia’s eyes widened. “A private reserve?
