My heart broke as I watched Patrick being handcuffed by the police. I wanted to keep Liam away but he insisted on looking at what was happening.
“Mama, why are they taking Daddy?” He asked, his voice cracked with emotion. “Why are you letting them take him?” He added.
I looked at him.
I opened my mouth to speak but couldn’t form any words. What could I possibly say to the boy?
Liam even tried to run out of the jet just to save his father, but I had to drag him back. After he saw that the police had finally gone with Patrick, he started crying profusely.
I tried my best to comfort him, but I didn’t even know the right words to say. After a while, I couldn’t help but join him.
