It felt good watching Patrick beg and try to convince me to give him a second chance. Even though I was scared, I was still open to the idea of trying again.
But I just wanted him to prove to me how bad he wanted me.
I had already thought about everything, I wouldn’t let what people had to say get to me.
We all made mistakes in the past and I didn’t want to dwell on them or hold it against anybody.
I was finally ready to forgive Patrick.
We had been through so much.
I was starting to believe that Patrick was actually my soulmate. He was the only one who made sense and I chose to believe him when he promised that he was a changed man.
Maybe we could make it work this time around.
“Valerie?” Patrick’s soft voice dragged me out of my thoughts.
