I let out a scoff. “You must be out of your mind.”
I couldn’t hide the irritation on my face even if I tried.
Her face fell. “Do you know how risky it is for me to release a public statement saying I was just trying to frame you?”
“You should have thought about the consequences before you went public with something like that … or told whoever you told.”
A deep sigh escaped her lips. “Patrick, I’m sorry for exposing the truth about your company. I never wanted it to get to that point.” She continued, folding her arms around her chest. “But I need to protect myself. I need something before I can lie to ....”
