When it was lunchtime, I drove Celeste over to the restaurant she had picked. Her husband was already there waiting for us.
“I’m so glad you’re okay with this.” A smile tugged at her lips as we stepped out of the car. “Ever since I met Charles, I have always pictured the three of us having lunch together. I mean, my man and my best friend.”
I exhaled sharply. “I’m sorry that I denied you that fantasy for so long. But I’ll make it up to you.” I said as we walked to the entrance of the building. “We can have as many lunches as you want.”
Celeste laughed. “No, I’m too busy for that.”
