Letting out a deep sigh, I turned around and walked to the door. As I opened it, I saw Patrick standing outside.
I didn’t say anything. I waited for him to speak.
“I’m going downstairs. Call me if you need anything.” He said as his eyes scanned the room.
I nodded. “Sure.”
With that, I left.
I let out another sigh before closing the door.
At that moment, I wished I could follow him downstairs. The tension in the room was thick and I knew that Celeste was about to say some things she wouldn’t be able to take back.
Maybe I actually needed to hear them.
It would just make my decision easier.
I walked back slowly and stood in front of her. “What were you trying to say before you got interrupted?” I asked, my voice barely above a whisper.
