“What makes you think she’s insurance?” he asks.
I feel my heart beat jump around erratically.
“There’s nothing I won’t do to kill you, Kazimierz,” Lucio continues, still refusing to meet my eye.“There’s no one I won’t sacrifice.”
“Even her,” Lucio answers without hesitation.
I wince as the hurt courses through me. It’s powerful and crippling, leaving me limp againstKazimierz, barely aware of the gun pressed to my temple.
“Is that so?” Kazimierz asks. “Then why haven’t you killed me yet? One bullet through her and thenone through me and this would all be over.”
“Sure, but where’s the fun in that?” Lucio smiles dangerously. “The FBI have fun plans for you. Whykill you before they can do what they’ve planned?”
“Sounds like an excuse to me.”
