It’s been two days of holding the two suspects of poisoning Hailey. I was lenient on them, giving them time to rethink about the consequences of not confessing to the crime. They would get the chance to speak, but they were given the choice between being honest and facing me, or taking their chances with the pack.
For two days, I had ordered that the guards didn’t punish them yet, instead interrogate them softly, to gain their trust and hopefully, get an answer out of them. For two days, I had watched from the outside as the guards did what they were told, and did not inflict any harm on them.
And today, was the day they would both choose their fate.
They would either admit to the crime and accept the punishment, or take their chances with the pack.
