Liam and I took a seat at the far end corner of the restaurant, wanting to get as much privacy as we could. I was nervous and excited for him. This was going to be a big step for my baby, and I didn't know how to feel about this.
He was only six years old, and yet he was mature enough to understand the situation. He was finally going to get the life of every kid his age, just that in this case, he would have his mom and dad, but they aren't together.
How do we even explain that part to him that his father was married to someone else and that's why we couldn't be together? How does a six year old even grasp the concept of that?
