I had spent the rest of the night in the ICU as expected of me as the head doctor, and the following day was a busy one. Valerie had gone home and spent the night with Liam and a pang of guilt had stayed with me all through the night.
Liam knows what his mom does, how she saves lives, and he even called me a hero for saving people's lives, but I still missed my baby regardless.
There were tons of paperwork and patients to treat. I had to go and see a few of my patients, and after that, I headed to the cafeteria.
Grabbing a quick coffee, and a sandwich, I sat down in the corner, and ate. Valerie was still busy with some patients, and Liam was at school.
"Hello, stranger." I heard a deep voice, and turned around to see Giovanni standing by the table.
"Hey, Giovanni. Sit."
