Liam asked, his voice filled with apprehension. "Is everything okay?" "He's awake," I said, a small smile playing on my lips. A collective gasp went through them. Aria's eyes widened, a single tear rolling down her cheek. "Dad’s awake?" she asked, her voice filled with disbelief. Her eyes welled with tears, but they were tears of pure, unadulterated joy. "He's really awake?" Liam stood frozen for a beat, then a shaky breath escaped him. He looked at me, his own eyes glistening. "He's... he's okay?" "He's weak, he's confused, but he's alive," I confirmed, the words still feeling like a miracle on my tongue.
