They were simply reacting to the next dryad druid scale that was, in itself, reacting to Ryder and wanted to attach itself to her but couldn’t, didn’t have permission, unlike the plane rune he’d attached to her without warning.

And unlike Algiz, because she’d ripped that right off him to stop his amusement keeping her awake, when thinking about how to get it attached to her.
